INSINC and City of Burnaby Extend Webcasting Services

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

Burnaby, BC – INSINC (Interactive Netcasting Systems Inc.) today announced that the Company will be extending its webcasting services agreement supplying innovative streaming media services to the City of Burnaby for another three (3) years.

The company, founded in 1997 by Hugh Dobbie (Jr), has developed a system called MediaDex, which allows organizations to organize and index their streaming content, in real-time or to archives, through a simple-to-use web interface.

The program is currently in use by the Government of British Columbia Legislative Assembly (Hansard), the City of Vancouver and the Supreme Court of Canada.

“This product allows the person who is responsible for doing meeting minutes to easily index video clips from civic proceedings for later playback by interested persons,” says Dobbie. He added, “This ability cuts down on the amount of streaming time and ultimately the cost of communicating with constituents by giving viewers quicker access to information they require.”

INSINC, a pioneer in the delivery of streaming media, is excited to be extending its relationship with the City of Burnaby.  “As a company headquartered in Burnaby, it is rewarding to be providing webcasting services to our own city,” commented INSINC President, Hugh Dobbie.  “Hopefully the residents and business of Burnaby will continue to realize value in being able to enjoy the access to items of civic interest to them.”

“We now have over 70 meetings archived dating back to January 23, 2006,” stated Debbie Comis, Office of the City Clerk, “and we provide indexing to over 650 clips including Committee Reports, Manager’s Reports and Bylaws.  Our constituents can gain immediate access to the information they want to see.”
